The Sun Lizard team has been involved in some of the most innovative and forward thinking large solar projects over the past 20 years.
We designed and built one of Australia’s first and largest (at the time) solar carport in 2014. We then added one of the largest behind the meter solar systems on the same site. This site also has additional generators able to run on biodiesel made from vegetable oil.
We negotiated the site, developed and then project managed construction of South Australia’s first solar farm over 5MW in 2017. It created numerous local jobs when Whyalla was struggling with its future.
More recently, we are working with one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit charities to build solar farms, rooftop solar, and batteries. They can offset around 70% of their energy costs, saving up to $4m per year. This money goes back into supporting Australia’s most needy people. The innovative design means the land can still be used for farming which allows them to generate additional income. The energy is shared across their remote commercial sites under an innovative wholesale purchasing plan.
